While taking the bus toward tavistock hotel, which is the hotel that we are lodging for the next 12 days, I saw different country side houses. When I was in Singapore, the houses that I looked around were large, tall building or house domestic building. It was rare to see those countryside house with my naked eyes. Although I have been watching Hollywood movie, it is just the simulation effect.
After taking the forty minutes bus toward our hotel, there wasn't any rooms available for us and we have to leave our luggage in the hotel before we get our celluar data SIM card near the store.
The business in London was unlike the Asian countries. Most of the government offices are not open during weekend and the small shop owners have to stand out of the shop and serve their customers. London business people do know how to put their customers priority and they serve their customers with patient and with a smiles on their faces. By comparing the shop in London with Singapore, I felt that London is trying to serve their customers with a great smile and would like their customers to feel that it is worth to shop their products in the store. However, for Singapore, it is hard to see the store owner coming out of their cash register Area and serve their customer. The things that Singapore business that prioritze them is to implement business strategy and improve the brand awareness of the social media platform. I ought to agree that having brand awareness was this important key to maintain and attract more customers. On the other hand, shop owners have to serve their customer happily instead of frowning their faces and ensure that it is worth to shop with them. For example, if the shop owners is angry whereas the brand is being aware by most of the citizen, the customers will not feel the worth of purchasing goods in the shop.
After walking with our map as a guide, we landed into the small shop where we get our SIM card. Once we obtain our SIM card, my classmates and I have been taking out their phone, clicking on their whatsapp or talking with their love ones through tango and viber. We spend quite a long time in the shop as we are trying to instAll the SIM card into our smart phone. I cannot comment about the advantage of the SIM card as I have not use any prepaid card in Singapore since I was young. After purchasing the SIM card, we walked toward "pret" store. It was a sandwich coffee shop. I do not mean those coffee shop that we have in Singapore whereas I am talking about shop like Starbucks coffee shops. The store is selling different type of handmade sandwich but it is hard for the Malays to consume the food in the store as they have limited choices as they have to fulfill the halal religious.
The sandwich was fabulous as you are able to taste the real wholemeal bread and it actually carried spice with it. I actually ate the sandwich with satisfaction feeling. Although the sandwich is expensive, it is too delicious and you will not have such taste again in singapore.
After a while later, Adeline met us.
