3-10-2012

It was a big day for Kenneth and me as it was the day that we have a "big walk" in London. Big walk means that a long distance walk. I will be sharing my thoughts and experiences around the different places in London in the ensuing paragraphs.
The day started with the tree swaying around the street, wind are howling and Londoners are wearing thick clothes to ensure that they are protected from the wind.
The same cycle continue for the morning which is having our breakfast in the hotel and going to the university for events.
While waiting for Richard(our hoster for ucl lessons and events), the boys are trying to teased Liyana by finding some hunk man that look similar to one direction. After taking a photo of her favourite person, she started to turn angry.
We are meeting Richard so that he could bring us to a conference room for the project discussion. We are asked to come out an agenda of the things that we are going to do for our project and present to him. It was my first time that I could let go my project and it is not fully responsible about it. I do not mean that i am not doing anything but just that i do not carry a heavy responsibility for the group. Therefore, Kenneth will be representing our group to present. However, Kenneth was nervous and he miss out a lot of lines that are written on the paper so I have to help him by allow him to regain his confidence before he can speak again. I really have to ensure that this group have the adequate practices in presentation skill.
After our group presentation, Richard told us that there are many airlines going around Europe or united kingdom countries. Do you know that you could pay 1 pounds for a flight to Rome and a £5-10 for airport tax? A total of £11($22) to get to another countries. For example, ezyjet.
After the four groups have presented their ideas or agenda, we split ourselves so that we could go to places that we wanted to go in the first place.
Kenneth and I went to Knightsbridge where Harrods was located at. We took the tube from Euston square station and the map of the tube was so confusing. It was unlike Singapore smrt maps where it is big and clear. After 20 min, we reached Knightsbridge station and it costs us two pounds for the tube fare. The transport is so expensive where Londoners prefer to take a bus or using their legs to walk.
Knightsbridge was a place where luxury goods are located and the things are expensive for Singaporean to purchase. For example, a Box of Harrods chocolate cost about sgd $ 25. Do you think it is worth to consume or display? I think it is not worth to buy such expensive goods in London.
Kenneth and I decided to walk from Knightsbridge to oxford street. We would like to look at London scenery and the lifestyle of Londoners.
While walking towards oxford street, it seems that we are lost around the knidgebright but nothing stopped us we have the power of Google map in my android phone in the first place but my s3 seems to hate me as it shows me that I have to walk a long distance towards oxford street. The things that save us was the map in the bus stop so we started our journey by using the map as a guide.

While walking, we walked pass the hyde park therefore we decided to take a walk in the park. The park was so different from Singapore national park. It was just like the childhood books. There are people running, people having picnic, there are many squirrels and pigeons waiting for people to feel them and there was a pond for geese, goose and many more. We spent about two hours in chasing geese and taking the different types angle photographs. The toilet in London's park was so different as they have different opening hours for different month.
After the park, we headed toward the orchard street and there was another primark store. Kenneth and I spent some time over there and I manage to get three shirts for myself. We continue our exploring journey but I seems to stop the journey by entering into the different store such as Disney, pull and bear, next, Burton, gap and many more. After the shopping spree, we went to have our Japanese food in wasabi restaurant. The food was fabulous and worth the price.
The chicken curry that was sold in wasabi was a no words could describe things, a spoonful of curry rice could make your life enriched and the chicken was so tendered which allow you to swallow down immediately. If you have a chance to walk past the store, do remember to buy one bowl and consume it. The sushi have the similar taste with the sushi that I have in Japan. I would like to emphasize that it was the food that you should not miss out in London.
After consuming it, we continue our journey to oxford street. After walking about an hour, we finally reached oxford street and Kenneth would like to go to hamley for purchasing a harry potter book for his friends. The book cost about £28 and it costs a bomb for Kenneth. Besides that, they sold different wands in regard with harry potter movie in the toy shops too. After buying the books, we walked out of the store and it was like a disaster for us as IT WAS RAINING. We have to take out our umbrella and rush to the nearest bus stop to hop on bus 7 to Russel square station where our hotel are located. This is where our journey end for day 4 in London.
